Our FDNY WTC Memorial Tee Shirt was designed in the weeks following 9/11 in response to the requests of firehouses around the country who shared our grief. During that first year and into the following year, a portion of the profits of the sale of this particular shirt was donated to charity. The prime beneficiary was The Widows and Children's Fund of the FDNY Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA). Other, smaller distributions were made to the FDNY Officer's Union (UFOA), which established a scholarship fund for the children of the WTC firefighter victims; and some of the individual fire houses. Now we have another group in need. There are over 70,000 people considered to be “at risk” from their exposure to toxins at Ground Zero, including tens of thousands of rescue personnel. While the sale of our “9/11 - Still Killing” awareness Tee Shirt may be able to raise some money, more important, is that it help to raise public awareness of the situation.
